The Horse Cave Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th 2008 were able to have in Horse Cave a training exercise with a Live House Burn. There were a total of 4 different types of houses that were used to aide in the training and learning experience. Attending firefighters were taught the basic fundamentals of fire fighting, (both interior and exterior), PPE, fire scene assessment, proper ventilation, etc. During the exercise firefighters used different types of nozzles, different diameter hoses, hand tools and other equipment necessary to extinguish different levels and types of fire.
The training was a huge success with several firefighters from several surrounding departments attending. Below are Photos from the Live House Burn.
